	Ingeborg Henningsen was born in Mexico City in November 1913 to Hermann Henningsen and Martha Fredenhagen (Henningsen). By the late 1920s she was attending the Lankenau School for Girls in Philadelphia and eventually graduated from the affiliated Lankenau School for Nursing.
