Hamburg Ohlsdorf 26.3.16 My dear aunt! I received your lovely letter this morning. It is also a pleasure for us to hear from you from time to time. already the awareness that someone thinks of us with love. So I felt an urge to answer immediately. If only through this card. Despite the bad times, we are all doing well. if it could be better with my dear wife. but she is now already 67. that must always be taken into account. The end of the bad war is still not in sight. if it looks better with us too. than where the war is raging in enemy territory. --- to come to an honorable peace. It is a positive sign that our current bond has been so well covered again, a sign of our trust and strength in Germany’s good cause.
