Beloved Son Sigmund!

Although we wrote to you just 8 days ago, we are sending you another letter. Yesterday we received a letter from Seligmann written on the 5th of March from Cresent City in which he asks me to send to you 500ff for the trip to him. My reply can be read by you in the accompanying letters you will soon be receiving. He writes further that he has already written to you two times but has not yet received an answer. What I don't understand is that he knew you were in Washington, since you received a letter from him there. In New York there are two letters waiting for you at the Post Office. You can inquire after them. I learned nothing about his circumstances from his letter. What he is doing remains a puzzle to me. I wish and hope that he will come to you and you with both be together. I do not want you to go to him, however. If you have not yet forwarded the first letter on, you can just keep it. If you have sent it, then send this one without delay.
